The New York Giants take QB Daniel Jones sixth overall.
Jim McBride's take: Big and smart, he looks like he just walked out of the QB factory. A very poised and tough character who will hang in the pocket until the last second (sometimes too long). Will thrive in a short to midrange passing offense.
Bio: A three-star recruit from Charlotte, Jones learned at Duke under David Cutcliffe, who famously helped develop Peyton and Eli Manning. Jones started full-time as a redshirt freshman in 2016, throwing for 2,836 yards (62.8 percent completion), 16 TDs and nine INTs, then totaled 2,691 yards (56.7 percent), 14 TDs and 11 INTs in 2017. He managed 2,674 yards (60.5 percent), 22 TDs and nine INTs as a redshirt junior despite missing two games with a broken collarbone, then won Senior Bowl MVP in January. — First Level Media
