So many quips to make about this being the one time a year that a Republican Congress will stand and applaud President Obama. So little time.

@Soxfan: Clarifying the question. Are you asking if Mike Dukakis said he only took 2 sick days or that Obama says that? I'm checking the remarks right now and don't see that in the speech. I also don't see it in Joan's column.

As a millennial, I have to say a good portion of my counterparts have college degrees but are not working the types of jobs that they studied for. We were juniors/seniors when the recession first hit, and I think it felt like the "American Dream" was just a broken promise for so many of us. So... what does it matter if we have more college graduates? Can they put that education to use?

I'm certain the point of using Rebekah and Ben's tale as the first anecdote is part of a softer approach to an audience that is likely hostile. It focuses on a family and how they worked together and stuck by each other during a tough time.

"Free and open Internet" *AND* cybersecurity. It is indeed ridiculous that this issue has become more prominent in 2014 and not before.
